The UES Amundsen shirt, named after famed Antarctic explorer Roald Amundsen, is a testament to Japanese craftsmanship and innovative design. Developed in Bishu, Aichi Prefecture, this shirt features a unique fabric that sets it apart from typical heavy flannels. Using 7-ply weft yarns and uneven yarns, the fabric achieves exceptional volume and character. The distinctive Amundsen weave pattern creates a matte finish, while rope-dyeing techniques result in varied indigo shades that evolve beautifully with wear. Crafted on vintage power looms, production is limited to just 50 meters per day, making each shirt a precious commodity. The fabric's brushed back enhances softness and warmth, while the slow weaving process ensures a voluminous yet durable texture.

UES's commitment to traditional methods means slight irregularities in the fabric are part of its charm. The shirt boasts a slim, flattering silhouette typical of the UES brand. Versatile and stylish, it pairs well with both jeans and chinos, offering a unique piece that combines comfort, style, and a rich indigo heritage.
